Pet Sitting Experience

Making a list of things we are garnering from our experience petsitting:

Customer service
Doing things we don't feel like to meet an obligation
Safety
Putting pets' needs over ours
Decisions: bad weather, how to get the whole job done when difficult
Pricing- in neighborhood, out of neighborhood, repeat customers
Marketing- discounts, advertising, referrals

Getting up early to meet commitment (and get paid)

How do divide up work- who gets what duty - trading off, cooperating

Conversations about this as a full time business- pros and cons?

Need for insurance

Maintaining privacy when going into people's home- not being nosy.

Seeing different lifestyles of people, decor, interests, decorations, etc.

Body language of animals--- behavior, etc.
Parrot-- very new to us... Watching how he reacts, need for social time, passive aggressive!

German Shepherds got out.. How? Responsibility to report to owners.
Short visits due to weather, etc. report to owner- give discount?

Typing up invoices for billing.

Making up logos and business cards.

Do we need more customers? Discussion about current 4 customers. Is this enough? Should we ask for referrals, advertise?

Must keep customers in neighborhood- due to drive time and expense. (Gas prices)

Sales, expenses, profit. Paying boys based on minimum wage. Good method? Discussed options.
