Ham Sandwich

Thinking back on words of wisdom I have heard over the years.

I remember an e-list friend named Nora who has a wonderful sense of humor and unique outlook on life. She would tell of her oldest son being involved in his many projects in his teens.

Sometimes, she would say, what we really needed from me was to leave him alone and occasionally 'slip a ham sandwich under the door'.

I have thought of that often as I build ham sandwiches.
