Planting Seeds

Began Daily Augustine today- short excepts and prayers by St. Augustine. Talked a bit about his life, Saint Monica, etc. Want to find some short bio info of him to share-time period, etc. Or better, a good bio of him.. on tape would be great.

Read the beginning of Imitation of Christ by St. Thomas A Kempis. Chapter One.
Discussed learning, importance. Have read ahead and he speaks of it and the potential of being seperated from God by if you are learned.. putting yourself above others.

Intersting discusssion about why we learn? What is the purpose? Ok to try and make a better life. Talked about movie I just watched About A Boy where Hugh Grant is somewhat wealthy but entirely selfish. It is not about how much we have or don't have, but where our heart is.

B asked why do we need to learn math? Joking.. but then we talked about it.

Discussion about Clonlara, what they do for us. Classical learning.. Charlotte Mason... what we do. What others do. How we learn. How it seems easier because we are choosing our own books.

Some seeds planted.

Oh... Chloe, Houston and Spencer's family just called.. they are at the airport.. soon to be home. Some dogs are about to be real happy!

B figured out their pay for the dog sitting. Tried to talk me out of more. Nope..my share goes to the house. I showed him how much 'behind the scences' work I did. That is how business works.. there are other indirect costs that must be covered by billings.

We will miss seeing our dog friends now the owners are back...
