Car Talk and more.

Car discussions today:

Shopped at Costco at recommendation of a good friend who swears it is cheaper. All over the asiles with my calculator bringing those giant sized quantities down to size to compare with Kroger. Kroger is actaully cheaper on every single thing when I use Grocery Game (www.thegrocerygame.com) and some things even when I don't. Plus I don't know how I would deal with a 5 pound block of Mozz cheese. I know I am missing something.

Lots of talk about savings, cost of living, calculating real costs of food, etc... Also they had some really cool *authentic* looking light sabers there for $80. Wow.. wish we had more dog sitting jobs, I could hear the boys thinking.

Waiting to be paid for one of our dog sit jobs. They have not sent the check or returned my message. Ut oh. We are thinking the best and hoping for the best. B asked if I (business owner) don't get paid, I *do* pay my employees, don't I? (them). No, I said. We are all watching the mail box and they are putting off their planned purchase until the check shows up.

Driving- talking- all sorts of subjects. Jobs, Dh's job, high tech, Starbucks, etc.

Summer is here. What does that mean to us? Not a lot of schedule change. Hotter weather. Boys are off Nintendo still. I am cutting way back on email and Internet.

Am researching more good books. We have a lot of good ones going. May do Bravewriter Boomerang with B. S may like it too. Maybe start an online discussion group of teens? Could I moderate such a thing?

Liked Leonie's Lit based study (www.livingwithoutschool.blogspot.com) Think I will find some good literature (vs biographies) and pull together some units. May use the Hiding Place and Across Five Aprils. Lots of interest here in WWII. I think will be more in Civil War since AFA was so good... find neat back up materials.

WW2 - there are lots of good novels and movies. I liked When Hitler Stole the Pink Rabbit.

Your blog is always very uplifting, Cindy - you and the boys sound like you have a cool relationship.
