Another rainy day

So that means it is time to go outside and plant flower boxes in Houston.. b/c it is cool! Donned the mosquito spray and filled planters I found at a garage sale with Spanish moss and planted flowers found at Lowe's. Looks nice.

Boys are training the wild Ralphie. He really is learning. We are amazed.

Showed boys my excel worksheet and we looked at actuals on our household expenses. Looked at line items that are reported monthly and those that are annual or semi annual.

What line items can be elminated or reduced? What is neccesary, what is not? Interesting to look at how all the bits and pieces add up.

Calculators were whirring....

Boys writing doing a lot of writing and reading. Vacumming and chores today. Still on Nintendo fast. Have a new friend coming over tomorrow (a new Houston resident in our neighborhood.. homeschools, is 14) But his mom plans to send him to school next year.. but we are looking forward to meeting them. Will break the nintendo fast while he is here. Nice icebreaker for the kids.

Interesting discussions today on house work, earning money, etc. A real "homey" day. ;)
